After the heroics of Curvy in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot, there was further reason for good cheer for trainer David Wachman at Leopardstown, after his Private Paradise gained a last gasp success under in-form Billy Lee in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) Maiden.

After Ballydoyle had landed the opener with Painted Cliffs they were expected to take the second too through their strong favourite Timbuktu

However that's not the way it transpired as she had to make do with fifth place under Seamie Heffernan.

Up front it was left to the pace-setter, Catalyst and the first-time cheek-piece wearing and always prominent, Private Paradise, to fight it out. The latter just prevailed by a short head.

"She just kept galloping and wants a mile-and-a-quarter. She's good and honest," said Lee.

"The first filly got a length-and-a-half on me turning in but mine just kept galloping and wants every yard of that trip.

"Hopefully off this mark there is a handicap in her if she keeps improving."
