"She had a bad draw but I got the best possy possible and ended up following Seamie (Heffernan, on third-placed 9/4f Music Box around. We were going to come up the middle but I followed Seamie over and when she got to the good ground, she picked up really well," reported Colin Keane after taking the Group 3 Coolmore Stud Fairy Bridge Stakes for the fillies and mares at Tipperary.
Keane was riding Realtra for Roger Varian, and the grey daughter of Dark Angel, following up on her win at Fairyhouse at the same level last month, here beat off Drumfad Bay by a length and three parts.
"She is good and genuine and tries hard. We were saying beforehand that her mother won on soft to heavy so that might have come into play here," further explained Keane.
The other British raider, Ed Dunlop's Same Jurisdiction fared much worse than Realtra as she weakened over the last quarter mile into last.
P.J. Smullen, rider of Raymonda (USA), trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stopped quickly three furlongs out.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Raymonda (USA), trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Turf Club Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Same Jurisdiction (SAF) trained by Ed Dunlop (in GB) was examined at the request of the trainers representative by the Racecourse Veterinary Surgeon who reported the filly to be clinically abnormal post race.
