Robert Tyner produced a magnificent training performance to bring Whatwillwecallher back off a 1,148 day break to land the Irish Stallion Farms E.B.F. Mares Beginners Chase in a first-time hood at Naas. Tyner was completing a double with this Tony McCoy-ridden daughter of Old Vic.

The County Cork handler was also on the mark in his home county today, at the point-to-point in Templenacarriga, with a five-year-old called Wade Harper, and there was no lack of confidence in the undoubtedly very-talented Whatwillwecallher as she went off at 4/6.

Despite being a bit keen in McCoy's hands, Whatwillwecallher didn't harm her chance in any way.

From between the last two the J P McManus-owned eleven-year-old proved to be much too classy for her opponents, going on easily defeat Railway Zira by eight lengths.

Tyner explained: "It took a while with her as she had a few niggly problems and fair play to Mr McManus for being so patient.

"I had her ready to go at the end of the season last year but the ground went on us. I don't know why it took so long this season - maybe because she had been off for so long.

"I don't know where we'll go now. We might try and find a mares winners race and she's even qualified for the veterans races now!"

Florishwells D'ete, who'd also been due to run for McManus here, was a non-runner as she was lame. (GC & EM)
