Port Lions came from off the pace to win the featured Party Time Ltd. Marquee Hire Rated Race at Limerick.

Chris Hayes brought the Lions Partnership-owned and Madeleine Tylicki-trained four-year-old with his run down the outer in the final quarter mile. Geological (4/1 into 11/4 favourite) did his best to fend them all off from the front but he was nailed on the line by Port Lions and beaten a short head. Morpho Blue had every chance and ended up half a length back in third.

"He has so much ability and wants things his way but that worked out really well. There wasn't enough pace for him at the Curragh the last day and he also ran into a bit of trouble but these things happen and that's racing," said Tylicki.

"He was in good order today and he is picking up lovely prize-money for us. While the ground is the way it is he'll keep running as he is enjoying himself.

"Freddie (Tylicki, brother) has a very good eye to spot them and he was involved in buying him and I'm delighted for him and the lads (The Lions Partnership, owners). It was a family effort and we'll have a look through the calendar with Fred and make a plan next."
