Flat racing makes its one-day-in-four appearance at the Tramore August Festival today with the Michael Winters-trained Theos Well likely to prove a big draw as he chases a four-timer in the concluding Dan Cowman Memorial Handicap.
The top weight has gone from strength to strength in recent times and having won his Flat maiden at Ballinrobe in June, followed up with two Cork hurdle wins subsequently.
He gives weight away to each of his rivals but is reunited with Connor King, who steered the gelding to his initial Ballinrobe victory. Opposing Theos Well are Pat Flynn's locally-trained and capable Storm Away while Gordon Elliott's Landau bids to overcome two recent runner-up efforts.
The race also features useful 12-year-old chaser He'llberemembered
There are a few blue-blooded horses on display at the fixture, with the Patrick Prendergast-trained Pincode by Galileo, hoping to follow up his maiden win at Bellewstown 44 days ago in the Rated Race. Pincode might have most to fear from Koybig fourth at Leopardstown on Thursday, while John Murphy's For Goodness Sake was a winner last time out, but on a much softer surface.
The Paul Deegan-trained Duke Of Medina is one of a handful of lightly-weighted three-year-olds in the Have Your Wedding At The Strand Inn Handicap and he might be able to defy an 8lb rise for an easy recent win at Wexford.
Top weight Rockview Emperor is admirably consistent and can also figure.
Another of Galileo's offspring Marie Celeste has strong claims in the fillies three-year-old maiden having shown ability on her three runs. She takes on the Dermot Weld-trained Faseeha a daughter of Teofilo, who was second at Wexford in a similar event 21 days ago.
