Tornado takes advantage of Time's departure

Sat 24th Oct 2009, 17:17

Dancing Tornado was probably a fortunate winner of the Newbay Country House Casino & Restaurant Beginners Chase as he was about two lengths down on Give It Time and not travelling as well as that one when she fell at the last. David Casey's mount was left clear to beat Coscorrig by nine lengths.

Winning trainer, Michael Hourigan said of his 13/2 winner, a 129-rated hurdler and coming here off a 183-day break: "He was probably lucky. It's better to be lucky than unlucky. He had plenty of ability over hurdles last season. David said he jumped well. He said they went too fast and came back to him. He has won a race every year since I've had him. It is nice to get a winner for the green and gold! (J P McManus)."
