Thynetocatcher provides a 25/1 shock
Navan’s excellent card rounded off with the Listed fillies’ bumper in which Thynetocatcher and jockey Mark Enright served up a 25/1 shock.
Roger McGrath’s five-year-old mare took over from Dancin’ Glory in the final furlong and held a challenge from top-weight Shu Lewis (13/2) by two-and-a-half-lengths.
“In her first race she beat Kandinski and Ballysteen. Ballysteen has won twice since and she beat him 24 lengths and Michael Hourigan said his horse was useful,” successful trainer Roger McGrath said.
“Kandinski has since been second to Simonsig and he’s not a bad horse. At Aintree it all happened a bit quick for her and she was a bit green.
“The big galloping track here suited her. It was a very hot field and we were nervous after things went so wrong at Roscommon. She wasn’t herself that day and we gave her a break after that.
“I knew in the last few days she was in good form. She’ll go back over hurdles now and go chasing next year. She won a point-to-point and she’s a brilliant jumper.”
Katie Walsh guided Hats And Heels into third place for Willie Mullins at 7/1. Missunited was the 7/4 favourite for Michael Winters and Nina Carberry but could make no impression in the final furlong as she finished sixth.
