The Bosses Oscar stayed on strongly to land Leopardstown's opening maiden hurdle for Gordon Elliott and Davy Russell. Fun Light had an advantage of a few lengths racing to the last but The Bosses Oscar rapidly cut into the lead and swept past him halfway up the run-in.

He asserted to come in by four lengths at 4/1. Fun Light held on by a nose for second at 25/1 just in front of 6/5 favourite Jon Snow

Gordon Elliot said: “He's a nice horse. He doesn't show a whole lot at home but Davy was mad about him after the last day (in Punchestown).

"Today was the plan and it's great for Valerie and Noel Moran, who are big supporters of the yard so it's very important.

“We'll try and find a little winners' race with him and then see where we go.”

Paddy Power gave The Bosses Oscar a first show of 33/1 for the Albert Bartlett.
