Tharawaat justifies short price up North

Trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Jason Maguire, on a day trip for England, combined to record a double at Down Royal today, when Tharawaat justified long odds-on (8/11) to win the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase.

Afterwards Elliott’s representative Ian Amond stated “he did it well but was entitled to win. He jumped well mostly, apart from one or two sticky jumps.”
