The market expected Tetraites to make a winning debut over jumps in the two mile maiden hurdle at Galway and it proved spot on as he posted a wide-margin success.
Before racing got under way, he was the subject of support from 15/8 to even money. He was a bit easier to back at the track opening at 5/4 before being returned the 11/8 favourite.
Trainer Ross O'Sullivan booked his brother-in-law Ruby Walsh for the ride and the jockey sent Tetraites into the lead from flagfall.
The pair asserted on the home bend approaching the final flight and readily drew clear. The winning distance back to Mouskersize (6/1) was nine lengths.
Ross O'Sullivan said: "That was great to get it and while it wasn't the strongest of contests, he deserved a win.
"He had schooled plenty and ran in a schooling race last winter so that experience stood to him. He should win a handicap from his flat rating of 74 and I think that might be the way to ride him on the flat too.
"He's big enough to jump a fence in time too."
