The www.Tramoreraces.ie New Website Handicap Hurdle over two miles and five proved to be a real war of attrition but it was no problem for all-the-way victor Kilkeaskins First (4/1 out to 9/2). Load Up Time (9/4 into 13/8 favourite) could manage only third place whilst the other ‘money horse,’ Local Rogue (16s into 8s) pulled up.
For the father and son team of Philip and Luke Dempsey, Kilkeaskins First was looking good from some way out and he ultimately had twenty four lengths in hand over Chin’up.
It was fourteen lengths then to the aforementioned Load Up Time in the bronze medal position.
"That was grand," said Dempsey senior.
"The ground is pretty bad out there. That's his fourth win now.
"He broke down after he won at Navan and just took a while to come back.
"He will probably go for something similar now. I was going to tell Luke to drop him in, but he came out and said there was going to be no pace.
"Luke said he wouldn't handle around here on good ground, he was just changing his legs."
P.T. Enright, rider of Tintown Robin trained by Vincent Laurence Halley, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.
At the request of the Stewards, J.W. Kennedy, rider of Load Up Time, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Load Up Time, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
