Ten Ten recorded his second career win when taking the John Lynch Carpets Beginners Chase in the hands of Mark Walsh at Navan.

Trained by Philip Dempsey for JP McManus, the Flemensfirth gelding has been lightly-raced since landing a Down Royal maiden hurdle over two years ago but put in a decent round of jumping here on his third start over fences.

The 9/2 chance was pressed by Canardier when that rival fell at the penultimate fence and Walsh had a slight scare at the last where his mount pecked badly on landing.

However, the six-year-old was soon back on an even keel and kept on well on the run-in to beat Dommage Pour Toi by four and a quarter lengths.

Smoking Gun was a further two and a half lengths back in third.

Dempsey said, "We're delighted with that. He had a nice run at Naas and built on it there so we're very happy. He had a fair look at the last and the other horse fell but still we're happy to get it.

“We'll talk to Frank (Berry) and Mark and see what they think now. The other horse fell and I suppose he hadn't played his cards yet but we're delighted with him.

“We had some issues last year and a lot of people helped to get him back here. He's a lovely horse, a lovely jumper of a fence and we've always liked him.”
