Tarana swooped inside the final furlong to make a winning debut in the opening Moyglare 50 Maiden at the Curragh.
The well-backed Bronte (9/1 in morning into 4/1) looked to have the field stretched at the two furlong pole as she made the running under Billy Lee in the mile contest.
Tarana took a while to find her feet but responded well for Niall McCullagh as she got going inside the final furlong.
The John Oxx-trained Aga Khan filly got on top inside the final 100 yards and was going away in the closing stages for a two-length success at 12/1.
The Cape Cross filly is out of Listed winner Tarakala and holds an Irish Oaks entry.
"She's quite a lazy filly at home who is not doing much in her work and I thought she'd be too spooky and green the first day," said Oxx.
"Niall rode her the other day and said that she'd wake up a lot on the track.
"She finished well and being by Cape Cross she probably likes good ground.
"There are a couple of stakes races coming up in the next month and we'll probably let her take her chance in one of those."
There was drama shortly after the start with Madam Mo stumbling and unseating Chris Hayes, then running loose during the race.
