It boiled down to a trio of them inside the last for the opening www.dundalkstadium.com Maiden (Plus 10 Race) and favourite Tammy Wynette came out on top.

It was a case of third time lucky for the Tamayuz filly as under Billy Lee she fought off Nigg Bay and Early Call by a head and a short head.

There was no alteration after a steward's enquiry.

"It's nice to get a first winner for Frank Fahy. She has plenty of ability," said McCreery.

"She's in Monday in a Listed race at Naas over five-and-a-half. We'll have a think about that but we have to get over this hurdle first (steward's enquiry).

"She was very smart out. Five is a tiny bit short for her, ideally she wants six or seven.

"She'll hop off good ground in the summer, if we ever get summer ground!"

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Nigg Bay, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, placed second, Early Call, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed third and Tammy Wynette, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed first, where it appeared that Tammy Wynette drifted towards Early Call and made contact close to the winning post.

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Astrospeed trained by J.A.Stack, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared on leaving the stalls.
