The Gordon Elliott-trained Deeply Superficial asserted on the run-in to land the spoils in the Tote Mares Hurdle at Limerick this afternoon.
The Flemensfirth mare was a bit sticky at a few hurdles but was produced to challenge by Aidan Kelly turning for home in the two-miler.
She fought it out with fellow 13/8 joint-favourite Walk With Paul from the second last and got on top from that rival on the run-in.
Della Casa Luna and Scenic Look flew home in the closing stages with the latter just edging the runner-up spot. She was a length-and-a-quarter off the winner at the line.
Deeply Superficial had been third behind Cheltenham winner You Wear It Well on her most recent outing at Sandown and was recording her second win of the season.
Kelly said afterwards:- "She travelled smoothly enough and we were going a good gallop but she missed one or two down the back-straight.
“When I asked her she kept finding for me although she could have done with some company in the closing stages.
"She loved that ground and 2m4f would also be no harm to her.
"That's my first winner, on my third ride, for Gordon and I finished second on Salvador Ziggy in the Pertemps (Final at Cheltenham) last week."
