Daryl Byrne recorded his third winner of the season when winning the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap aboard the Harry Rogers trained Strandfield Lady

Byrne who sat mid-division moved through the field to join leaders approaching the straight.

The pair were in front over a furlong out and stayed on well to post a length and three parts win over 9/4 favourite Denny Crane

Winning trainer Rogers said afterwards: “It’s been a while coming, she has been unlucky in running in her last few starts.”

“She was entitled to win and it’ll keep us going for another while.”
