Dundalk regular Stoichkhov gained his fifth success at the track when emerging on top after a tight finish to the Bassie's Bistro Collon Apprentice Handicap.
The eight-year-old was settled behind the leaders by Keith Quinn before launching his challenge at the two pole.
Michael Cleary 's charge got the front over a furlong from home in the mile contest and kept on gamely in the closing stages to register a half length win at odds of 16/1. Our Manekineko came wide to finish second with just a head back to Danequest in third.
Stoichkhov has gained all his five career victories at Dundalk and was last successful in November 2014.
