It was worth Colin Keane’s while to wait until after race six at Roscommon before heading to Fairyhouse by helicopter as Star Kissed (9/4) landed the Castlerea Handicap.

A winner at Bellewstown in April and fifth in a big-field handicap at the Curragh on Sunday, the Sea The Stars filly raced in mid-division and was fifth turning for home. She made steady headway down the outer to lead a furlong out and kept on well to beat 7/4 favourite Rattle And Hum by two lengths.

It was a double for Keane and trainer Ger Lyons.

Assistant trainer Shane Lyons, “We were on a hiding to nothing running her back straightaway from Sunday but this was the plan at the original meeting when the ground was soft.

“Delighted to get the win and its all confidence with her. She’s filling out in her frame and is from a great family but it’s all about next year.

“She is a long way off black type but that will be the main aim and it may be next year when she fills into the frame.

“That’s a bonus and hopefully we will get another bonus on the way and talk about black type next year.”
