Ballito caused a shock in the handicap chase when collecting at 33/1 under amateur David Boland.

The gelding was produced to lead at the last and kept on strongly on the run-in for a four-and-a-half length success.

"We'll have some explaining to do when we go home!", joked winning trainer George Stanley.

"It was a bit of a surprise and I'll be in big trouble with my friends as I told them not to back him.

"The ground suited so right and I couldn't believe it when I got here as in Dublin we've had so much rain.

"We haven't any plans for him as it's a pleasant surprise."
