Jadoomi produced a fine front-running performance to land the Clipper Logistics Boomerang Mile at Leopardstown this afternoon.
Christophe Soumillon was out of luck in the feature on Vadeni but it proved plain sailing on the Simon and Ed Crisford-trained gelding.
The Holy Roman Emperor went to post 9/4 joint-favourite in the Group 2 contest after winning at the same level at Goodwood a fortnight ago.
He had his rivals at work passing the two pole today in the mile contest and stayed on strongly in the closing stages to post a four-length win over Glounthaune
Ed Crisford said:- “When the rain came I was so delighted as he just loves to get his toe in.
“Christophe kept it very simple. We wanted to go forward and he got his fractions great in that ground. It was a very good performance.
“We gelded him in the summer which has made a huge difference and he’s an exciting horse.
“He’s not in the QEII but we’ll have to sit down with Sheikh Ahmed and have a talk about supplementing.”
Soumillon told RTE:- “The horse showed a lot of speed out of the gates. I listened to the trainer's instruction as he wanted me to be very handy and if nobody wanted to make it he was able to make the running.
“I had to push him a bit before the turn to stay in front as Ryan's horse (Glounthaune) was behind. The attacked me quite early in the straight but every time I asked him to go he had an extra gear and he did it very easy in the end.
“We had a good draw and the ground is quite good for him. In the last 100 yards he was flying home.”
