The going remains soft at Fairyhouse for one of the biggest days on the National Hunt calendar with three Grade One events to be decided on a seven-race card beginning at 12.30pm. Apple's Jade touched off Vroom Vroom Mag by a short-head 12 months ago in the Bar One Racing Hatton's Grace Hurdle, and the Gigginstown-owned mare faces six rivals as she bids to repeat that success.
World Hurdle hero Nichols Canyon looks the chief threat and heads a three-pronged challenge from the Willie Mullins yard.
Gordon Elliott, trainer of Apple's Jade, has strong claims in the other two top level events on the afternoon. Mengli Khan has impressed in two victories at Navan this term and may prove the pick of the Cullentra House trio in the Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle. Death Duty has also looked the part in winning his two chase starts and heads the market for the Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Chase, with stablemates Dinaria Des Obeaux and Shattered Love among the opposition.
Punters looking for a big payout with Christmas on the horizon should consider the Tote Pick 6 (find the winner of the first 6 races on the card) as there is a rollover of €150, 213 into today's pool.
