Wille Mullins began Easter Monday in the same vein as he ended Easter Sunday (eight winners across the two Irish meetings) as Sir Argus was too good for his rivals in the Way To Paris At Coolagown Stud Maiden Hurdle.
Sent off Evens favourite having been runner-up on his previous two starts, the Soldier Of Fortune gelding was always close to the pace before taking over in front towards the end of the back straight on the final circuit.
His pursuers were all in trouble at that stage and he was well clear when awkward at the last. Kieran Callaghan's mount, in the Gold Cup-winning colours of Mrs Audrey Turley, was soon back on an even keel and went on to score by four and three quarter lengths from Japers Jack
Callaghan said: "That's my first time riding the horse and his jumping improved from the last two days. In fairness he jumped well today and did it the hard way as he was plenty keen.
"He was very idle when I was left in front over the last three but picked up nicely and hit the line hard. His jumping is coming together so hopefully can go on from it now."
