Michael Halford's Simsir rewarded strong market support when comfortably getting up in the closing stages of the Servisource Education Support Race.
The 4/5 favourite tanked along behind the leaders in this six-runner race before being switched out by Ronan Whelan in the final furlong to challenge.
He was merely shaken up to readily mow down Yuften (4/1) by three parts of a length.
Michael Halford said: “He travelled like a nice horse the whole way and Ronan said he gave him a lovely feel.
“It was his first time on the surface, under the lights, and only his second ever run. They are hardened seasoned horses.
“He wanted to try and teach him something and come between them. He picked up well and just in the last 100 yards he said he was a bit green.
“He's just one of those horses that keeps his best for the track. We'll see where we go now and see what marks he gets.
“He has the size and scope to do it and only has the two runs. There is probably more to come from him.”
This was Simsir's second run having won on debut at Cork.
