Pat Smullen, earlier a winner on Zinat (Michael Halford) and Beat The Bank (Darren Bunyan), completed a Dundalk treble in the finale, aboard 5/2 favourite Serefeli in the Ready Mixed Concrete Handicap (division two).

Much attention here focused on Danny Sheehy after the horrible tumble he took early on from Mosman Thankfully his father 'Dusty' later reported: "Danny is conscious. He took a fair kicking from the horse behind and has some pain in his shin. Hopefully he'll be okay."

Sheehy was taken to hospital for examination.

Meanwhile up front Serefeli was never far away and he kept on well inside the final furlong to beat Trump Card by three parts of a length. There was a short head back to Six Silver Lane in third.

Winning trainer Peter Fahey said: "It's grand to get another win out of him. More than likely we'll freshen him up now for the grass. I think he will make a nice horse over the summer. He had a few little issues but I think we have them sorted now.

"Tom Keane selected him at the sales last year, and the syndicate is made up of the Howards from Dublin and Tom and a few friends of his from Galway."

The Stewards were unable to enquire into the fall of Mosman (GB), ridden by D.E. Sheehy owing to the riders injuries.

The other riders were asked by the Stewards Secretaries for their recollection as to what caused the fall.

The riders were in agreement by reporting that there was no general bunching and no shouting from any rider in difficulty and felt that D.E. Sheehy's mount clipped a heel and dislodged him.

Having viewed the video of the fall and considered the reports from the other riders, the Stewards were satisfied that Mosman (GB) accidentally clipped a heel and dislodged D.E. Sheehy.

The Stewards interviewed Lorcan Wyer, Clerk of the Course and Thomas McGivern, race stopping flagman concerning the procedures in place at this racecourse for stopping a race.

Having heard their evidence the Stewards decided to refer the matter to the Turf Club for further investigation
