De Plotting Shed continued Gordon Elliott’s winning streak by completing a hat-trick of wins this term in the Priory Walls Of Kilgowan Hurdle at Naas.

The Beneficial gelding has progressed well since returning from a summer break, and followed up wins at Navan and Thurles by making all here.

Cian Collins set a good pace on the six-year-old gelding and, after Jett tried to throw down a challenge after the penultimate flight, the 11/8 favourite stayed on strongly from before the last to score by eight lengths.

Last season’s Triumph Hurdle winner Ivanovich Gorbatov could find no extra in the straight and was a further 17 lengths back in third.

Elliott said, “He’ll keep to hurdles for this season and we can look at anything from two and a half miles up to three miles. He’s improving and is a horse that should win plenty of races.”

Ivanovich Gorbatov’s rider Barry Geraghty said, “His form tailed off after the Triumph Hurdle and you would have to say he was disappointing today. He was beaten before the second last. It’s real good ground which should suit him.”

Paddy Power reacted by pushing out Ivanovich Gorbatov from 20/1 to 33/1 for the Champion Hurdle.
