Apprentice jockey Conor Stone-Walsh had his claim reduced to 7lb today, having steered his third winner with the Joseph O'Brien-trained Selador (100/30) in Dundalk's Racing Every Week At Dundalk Maiden.
The daughter of Dark Angel had failed in seven previous attempts but today scored under a well-timed challenge, beating Rockview Consort (11/8f) by three-parts of a length.
Trainer O'Brien's assistant Brendan Powell said "she's not winning out of turn and on her first run, she was second to Lily Pond who won a Group 2 in the end.
"She is genuine but she has just found it difficult to win. Now that she has done it, you never know. She's actually a very big filly and maybe it is now she is maturing. I presume she will come back here again, she has a lovely pedigree so we will see what Joseph thinks now.”
He added "Joseph gives the jockeys chances and in this time of year, it is a great chance for these guys. The more experienced lads can't ride, so it is a great opportunity for them and Joseph runs plenty. They are good riders, they are still at school but come in every day they can and work hard.
