The 7/2 favourite Sea Appeal made all to win the Treo Eile Retraining Ireland's Racehorses Handicap for trainer Sheila Lavery.

Robbie Colgan ’s mount was always in his comfort zone and galloped on resolutely in the straight to beat Share The Honour by one and three quarter lengths.

The Fastnet Rock gelding was defying a 7lb higher mark after winning at Killarney in July and had no trouble seeing out the extra three furlongs of this contest.

“He's a massive big horse and is improving the whole time,” said Colgan.

“He's going to fill out and grow into that frame so you don't know where he'll stop.

“He's a real stayer, once I got to the front and got to dictate the race I didn't really have any worries.

“At home he could go as many laps as you want as he just loves galloping. He has a lovely big stride and he had no issue with the mile-and-six today.

“He was in a couple of apprentice races but got taken out because the ground was too dry, which was lucky enough for me.

“The time did him no harm, he was fit and doing plenty at home. We were waiting for a bit of slower ground for him.”
