Screaming Rose survived a stewards enquiry to win the mares' beginners' chase at Roscommon for Willie and David Mullins.

The 11/8 favourite edged left and bumped The Kings Baby approaching the final fence. There was contact between the pair on the run-in as The Kings Baby (10/3) went down by a head with JJ Slevin in the saddle.

The stewards made no alteration to the result.

The pair drew 10 lengths clear of third-placed Gold Smoke (12/1).

“I wasn't sure if I held on. It was a ding-dong battle,” David Mullins said.

“I thought I was keeping a straight enough line and JJ was bumping me and I was coming back into him.

“When I asked her to go and we jumped the last two she pricked her ears. There was a bit of a side sun and I'd say she was just leery because of that.”
