Salthouse got off the mark on his third start as he took the concluding Leopardstown Club Members Maiden, scoring under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger and Godolphin (earlier announced as the new owner of Bolger's Pleascach).
The three-year-old son of Teofilo was fourth on his debut at Limerick in April before finishing second to Outspoken on his next outing at Navan last month.
Sent off a 3/1 chance this evening he was settled in second before improving to challenge from two furlongs out.
He was ridden to lead over a furlong from home and he kept on well in the closing stages to score by five lengths. Dream Craft who attempted to make all, finished second under Chris Hayes for Eddie Lynam at 10/1 while Botany Bay was a further half a length back in third under Fran Berry for Charles O'Brien at 4/1. Pour Deux was sent off the 15/8 favourite (from 9/4) but she could only manage a disappointing fifth under Declan McDonogh for John Oxx.
Jim Bolger said afterwards: "That was a big improvement. He's a relaxed horse.
"I would have loved to have had him for Down Royal but that won't happen now.
"We'll try and pick a winners of one for him and he might get an entry for a handicap on Derby weekend."
