Sad outcome to Dundalk maiden

Fri 6th Jan 2012, 21:15

There was a sad conclusion to the [email protected] Maiden at Dundalk this evening, won by the Michael Halford trained Melodie D’Amour only for the mare to suffer fatal injuries passing the line.

Melodie D’Amour, under Bill Lee, made all and had shaken off the challenge of 13/8 favourite Aragorn Rouge on the run to the line but went wrong in the final strides, having suffered a fractured shoulder.

The daughter of Hawk Wing had reached the prizemoney on eight of her 15 starts.
