James Ryan partnered a quickfire 35/1 double at Dundalk after Sioux Princess justified good support in division one of the 1m4f Bar One Racing ‘Price Boosts Across All Channels’ Apprentice Handicap.
The Michael O’Callaghan-trained filly, who was successful on her penultimate start over the course and distance, was available at 11/2 overnight and went off the 7/2 co favourite.
The daughter of Divine Prophet travelled well to challenge early in the straight and after striking the front a furlong out, was driven out to beat fellow co favourite Maura’s Gift by three quarters of a length. Dreams Fled Away was the same distance further back in third.
Ryan was also on the mark half-an-hour earlier aboard Bergamasco in the nursery.
"It is her ideal trip. She is not too slow, but she just takes time to warm up into her stride - a mile and a-quarter with a tight bend early on, she just doesn't get time to (get into her stride)," said Ryan.
"A wide draw we were able to get her out and plenty of room to get rolling forward.
"She seems to love it up here, she is getting more and more confidence. Hopefully, she can keep on improving.
"She's hardy and she keeps galloping and seems to be in good form at the moment, fingers crossed it stays that way."
