Rue Hill (5/1) overcame an absence of 282 days to win going away in the two-and-half-mile handicap hurdle at Limerick. Jim Will Fix It was to the fore, but was there to be shot at two out with four rivals poised to deliver their challenge. Railway Tommy (7/1) boxed on well on the inside, but wasn't fluent at the last hurdle. Rue Hill, on the outside, negotiated it much the better and forged on for Jonathan Moore to win by a length and a quarter.

It was another length and a half back to Really Unique in third also at 7/1.

Handler Denis Hickey said: "He's nothing special and if he didn't win today he'd never win. He's a well-bred horse and that was only his fifth run, but he's very lazy.

"He had run well last March and he shouldn't get much for that, but it was nice to win."

The winner was backed down from 8/1 this morning.
