Little King Robin has been making hay over the summer and recorded her third win in less than three months when adopting typical front-running tactics under Mark Walsh in the Martin Reilly BMW Dealer Hurdle at Sligo.
The King’s Theatre mare has built up a great partnership with Mark Walsh, and the pair never had a moments worry in this two-mile event.
The 4/5 favourite had burned off chief market rival Voluptueux by the penultimate flight, and came home unchallenged an eased-down eight lengths clear of Cavite Beta
Walsh said, “She kills them with her speed. She has so much early speed, and likes to go flat to the boards. She’s tough and lovely to ride.”
Winning trainer Colin Bowe was represented by his assistant Brendan Walsh who added, “She will go to Bellewstown on the 28th August for a mares race and that will probably be it for the summer.
“She’s also in at Tramore next Thursday (Lady riders race) but it’s unlikely that she will go there. She does like to be busy but deserves a break.”
