With favourite Edamame (eventually finished fourth) bunny-hopping out of the stalls, the more experienced Represent Yourself convincingly got the job done on outing number five in the Crowne Plaza Hotel Race & Stay Package Claiming Maiden at Dundalk.
The daughter of Oratorio travelled best to the two pole under Wayne Lordan. She was soon in front and went on to beat the promising first-timer Rust Never Sleeps (carrying the same moniker as a good staying chaser of yesteryear who finished second in the 1993 Irish Grand National) by three lengths.
Winning trainer David Wachman reported by phone: "She was a bit in and out last year. She had a couple of solid runs and the form of those entitled her to win that.
"She's been going nicely at home for the last few weeks."
Meanwhile Lordan remarked: "She's a nice straight-forward filly and she travelled well."
Represent Yourself was later claimed for 15,000 Euros by Ger O'Leary. (AM & EM)
