Read To Return got a deserved track success to his name, as he claimed the season finale at Killarney, the Tote Fantasy Beginners Chase.

Successful in a point-to-point when in the care of Tom Keating, the Tony Martin-trained six-year-old filled the runner-up spot on recent starts at Tramore and Roscommon respectively.

His Roscommon effort came over flights just last Monday and he was sent off an 11/8 chance to go a place better today.

Settled in mid-division by Phillip Enright, the Fame And Glory bay jumped well throughout and improved into second on the approach to the straight.

He travelled strongly and eased to the front before the final fence, going on to register an easy three length win in the colours of the Spectacular Seven Syndicate.

Returned at 20/1, Hutchie ran a fine race to finish second under Ricky Doyle, while Ceanndana (5/4f) flopped badly and pulled up before three out.

"It was great because he is owned by good friends of mine Dave Fields, Des Caffrey and Colin Murray who are great lads," Martin revealed.

"He was a bit unlucky on Monday and while I don't like pulling them out again quickly, it would have been a shame to miss this opportunity. We'll go handicap chasing now."

STEWARDS REPORTS

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ceanndana, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

K.M. Donoghue, rider of Ceanndana, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount struggled on the ground and pulled up.
