Princess Vega is likely to draw most attention at Tramore as she makes her racecourse debut in the BetVictor Bet 5 Euros Get 30 Euros Offer Maiden Hurdle.
The Beat Hollow filly is the first foal out of top-class race mare Quevega, a six-time winner at the Cheltenham Festival during her career.
Willie Mullins handled Quevega in her racing days — and he trains Princess Vega, who is one of 14 contenders for Tuesday’s two-mile heat.
It is not surprising that the bookmakers have taken no chances with the regally bred newcomer and have installed her as the 4/5 favourite to make a winning debut for the Hammer & Trowel Syndicate.
Elsewhere on the Tramore card Colenso hit the mark at Wexford just over two weeks ago, and he bids to follow up in the BetVictor Guaranteed Run For Your Money Handicap Hurdle.
The four-year-old had been out of luck in three previous outings for trainer Pat Flavin before landing what was an open race by two and a quarter lengths.
The handicapper has put him up 7lb for that success, but Colenso is one of only two contenders with any recent winning form in this 16-runner heat. Bellgrove won on his penultimate outing, but he is running over hurdles for the first time since July 2017 here. Manomine was a winner at Downpatrick on Friday, and he makes a swift return in the BetVictor Proudly Supporting Irish Racing Handicap Hurdle.
He is saddled with an extra 4lb as he takes on nine rivals — including top weight Yeats Mardy Capture The Drama and Galuppi Double Windsor could be the pick in the Over 1000 Games At BetVictor Casino Handicap Chase, while Super Citizen goes for a first win under rules in the Choose Your Horse With BetVictor’s Betfinder Maiden Hunters Chase.
The track at Tramore has been watered and the going is described as good.
