Queen Grace came with a strong surge in the centre to land the spoils in the five-furlong handicap at Tipperary.
With runners spread across the track the group on the rail looked to have the edge heading into the final furlong in the sprint.
But Ronan Whelan's mount Queen Grace emerged in the centre of the track to gain the advantage inside the final furlong and record a three-parts-of-a-length success over Judies Child
The Mick Browne-trained winner had attracted support before racing (16/1 into 9/1) and was eventually sent off a 10/1 shot on course.
"That's badly wanted," joked Browne afterwards.
"She's very consistent and is rarely out of the first four. There are no races for her in Ireland so she'll probably go to Kempton or Catterick in a fortnight.
"Ronan is a very good rider and is a strong young fella.
"She's the first filly I've trained and if they have ability there is no training in them."
