Majestic Queen lunged late to spring a 33/1 shock on her debut in the fillies auction maiden at Dundalk. Cocktail Hour was sent off the 8/11 favourite and was prominent throughout in the seven furlong event.
She had to give way at the furlong pole, however, as Almalekiah came with a strong run.
The English raider looked to have done enough but was collared close home by Tracey Collins' newcomer.
The winner, who was friendless after trading at 16/1 this morning, would have been an unlucky loser after having a interupted passage, under Mick Hussey, in the closing stages.
"We thought she was a nice filly," said the trainer's sister Sheena afterwards.
"She's sweet and smart and she's been working very well. We wouldn't be doing too much more with her this season and she could be for sale."
The winning Majestic Queen Partnership hail from Mullingar and Kilcock.
The winner paid as massive €69 on the Tote and an even more impressive €23.30 for a place.
