Seabass is all the rage for the Aintree Grand National at 4.15 today. Punters have steamed in to force Katie Walsh’s mount down to as low as 6/1. The Ted Walsh-trained 10-year-old is clear favourite for the feature race. Seabass was of course third last year.
At Navan several horses are attracting good money.
In the two and a half mile handicap hurdle at 5.05, Labeille ridden by Jody McGarvey, has halved in price from 8/1 to 4/1. Labeille won this race last year for trainer Edward Harty. Aonvarr is very solid in the maiden hurdle at 2.55. He has hardened to even money favouritism from 3/1.
In the next race College Boy has been well supported to get off the mark for Conor O’Dwyer and Alan Crowe. He is 5/1 from 8s.
An outsider that punters want to be with is Royal De La Thinte in the 4.35. Taking on Call The Police and Rathlin (7/4 to 5/4), the eight-year-old French-bred is 16/1 from 25/1.
In the opener at 2.20 Philip Rothwell’s unraced Sweet Vic has seen money at 25s and now trades at 16/1.
