On a good evening for front-runners, Power Drive bridged a gap of over two years without a win when leading home a 1-2 for trainer Paul Flynn in division one of the Anthony McCrave Senior Memorial Handicap at Dundalk.

The veteran missed the break here last time but Dylan Browne McMonagle had him out smartly from stall two here to make all.

The 7/1 chance, who was gaining his sixth course win, was brought over to the favoured stand side in the straight and driven clear over a furlong out before staying on strongly to score by four lengths. Dromore Glory who was reappearing after almost two years on the sidelines, also came home well to complete the Flynn 1-2 with Kartayaz a neck further back in third.

Power Drive gained three previous wins at this venue when ridden by the trainer's daughter Ciara.

Flynn said, ""I put Dylan on the last day as Ciara had hurt herself. He thought he needed a hood (in the stalls) and I didn't want to give Ciara the job with the hood.

"He was spot on and it paid to have him on, great advice the last day from Dylan. He said he would win today."
