Pique Sous provided trainer Willie Mullins with a treble on the day as he took the bumper at Leopardstown this afternoon under the trainer's son Patrick.

Sent off the 7/4 favourite the French bred son of Martaline was well fancied to deliver after finishing third on his debut in the Tattersalls Ireland Sales Bumper at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival last year.

40/1 outsider Fear Glic attempted to make all under Josh Halley with the winner sitting behind in second.

Pique Sous then moved into the lead entering the straight and asserted from there, keeping on well to score by four lengths.

The Dermot Weld trained, Ben Dalton ridden Dancers Dilemma tried in vain to catch the winner in the straight and had to settle for second at 4/1 while Rear View under Katie Harrington completed the placings a further four and a half lengths back in third at 5/1.

The winner is a half-brother to four time UK winner Pancake.

Winning trainer Willie Mullins said afterwards: "He has improved nicely since last year and hopefully he will win another bumper. He needs nice ground.

"We will have a chat with the owners later to see where he goes next. He is a better ground horse and we will see plenty of him in the spring.

"He was quite keen so I was surprised by how much he found off the bridle and that's why I think he will improve.

"Any Leopardstown winner is entitled to an entry in the Champion Bumper and he will go for that now."
