After winning the second with Sors Andy Slattery doubled-up in the sixth, the Cross' SuperValu Handicap, as his Creggs Pipes (12/1) made all to win under Declan McDonogh.

Successful twice last season, the four-year-old daughter of Rip Van Winkle was last seen finishing fourth to Mr Right over the course early last month.

Stepped up to a mile today she was sent straight to the front by McDonogh.

She was ridden over a furlong out and kept up the gallop inside the final furlong, going on to score comfortably by two lengths. Wexford Opera (12's to 9's) finished second under Kevin Manning for Jim Bolger, while the well-backed favourite Aared (8's to 5's) was a further length and three parts back in third under Chris Hayes for Kevin Prendergast. Estrenar completed the placings a further half a length back in fourth under Oisin Orr for Jane Gillespie at 33/1.

Andy Slattery said afterwards: "She was entered at Chester on Friday in a seven-furlong race but the vet said she might be in season by Friday so we came here.

"We didn't know if she would stay a mile as she's a free running sort. We said we would run and she either stays or she doesn't - she obviously stays.

"She was very unlucky in a big handicap here on Champions Weekend when she got knocked down. She looked like she would be involved that day.

"We might look at the big handicap at Galway. The owner is looking to get black-type but she's only rated 75 so I'll try and hold him off and be realistic for a while.

"She won on good ground at Leopardstown but I think she does like a dig. We'll try and win again with her and then go for a nice handicap.

"If she could get third in a little Listed race on bottomless ground somewhere it would be great."
