It proved plain sailing for Dysart Dynamo on his debut over fences in the Paddy Power Horse's Mouth Beginners Chase at Leopardstown.
The Grade 2 winning hurdler went to post a 2/5 shot on his chasing bow and made all for a facile win under Paul Townend.
Willie Mullins' charge was clear after a couple of fences in the two-mile-one contest and never saw a challenger after.
Townend could afford to let him school around in front to record an effortless 28-length victory.
“He was pretty fast over the first couple of fences but then he just settled into a rhythm,” said Mullins.
“He threw in a huge jump at the first ditch down the back but then Paul seemed to pull him back and get him into a better rhythm, measured and he jumped his fences from there on home without any problems.
“He is what you see, he gallops and jumps. We'll just go up in grade now.”
When asked if he had learned much he added:- “I'd say the horse did but we didn't. He does that at home and the few times I've brought him away to school he's done the same thing. He just gets out there and loves jumping and galloping.
“When we see him jumping, he enjoys it. Nothing seems to take his eye off it, when he sees a fence he just puts his eye on it and goes down and jumps it. He seems to love the game, loves jumping.
“I think he's settled a lot better over fences than he did over hurdles. That's what I took from the first time I saw him schooling on grass. He really looks at his fences and takes notice of them, he wasn't taking any notice of hurdles. That will be a big plus with him in the future.
“If you were going to draw a chaser he's the one you'd like.”
When asked if the Irish Arkle could be next he said:- “We have a lot of horses that would fit that bill and we'll see if there are alternatives for some of them. He came here and did it so if you were coming back over course and distance he'd be one of the favourites to come back here.”
It was a quick double for Mullins following the opening race win of Tekao
