Peter Fahey's Peregrine Run reversed Galway form with market-leader Rathvinden to come out on top in an exciting Clifford Ground Care Limited Novice Chase at Killarney.
Third at Ballybrit to Rathvinden 23 days back, here up the run-in the Roger Loughran-ridden Peregrine Run found enough to fend off Conrad Hastings and the 'jolly' by half a length and a head.
"I'm thrilled for the horse and he is after winning eight races for us now," said Fahey.
"Ruby's horse (Rathvinden) beat us the last day but I thought if we could beat him anywhere it would be here with the three fences in the straight being a huge help, as he doesn't do a lot in front. Galway turned into too much of a slog with the three furlongs uphill finish.
"He'll tip away as long as the ground stays nice and I'd love to go to Cheltenham again in November! That's the plan with him and after that we'll freshen him up for something later on in the spring time.
"Roger (Loughran) gets on very well with him and Aoife (Fahey), my niece, rides him out at home and does a great job with him."
