Peregrine Run completed a four-timer over fences when landing the featured J Donohoe BMW Chase at Wexford.
The King’s Theatre gelding has proved a real diamond for connections and was recording his 14th career win which includes four victories at this venue.
The 10/11 favourite struck the front at the last, and kept on well under Kevin Sexton for a cosy two and a half lengths verdict over Mill Quest
The pair stretched 14 lengths clear of Crosshue Boy in third, while Conrad Hastings was let down by a number of jumping errors and trailed in last of the sextet.
Winning trainer Peter Fahey said, “He’s an unbelievable horse for the yard. Full credit to everyone at home for keeping him sound and right. He runs on hard ground day in and day out, and he’s just a sounder and happier horse this year.
“He might be entered in the Galway Plate, and if the ground is quick he could go there.
“He’s in at Leopardstown next Thursday and I’ll see how he is. I’d love to run him on the Flat as it could give us an option for Galway. If he happened to win it could give him a nice mark for the amateur handicap. Our best chance of good ground in Galway is probably the first few days.
“He has a nice mark over hurdles and there could be a nice day in him over hurdles if everything goes well and he stays healthy.”
