The Stewards interviewed Paul Townend, rider of Mountain Snow placed second, concerning the use of the whip in the closing stages of this race.

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and also from Mr. Willie Mullins, Paul Townend's Master.

Having viewed the video of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Paul Townend had used his whip excessively and unnecessarily. Having taken the riders recent record in this regard into account, they suspended Paul Townend for four race days.
