Paddy Pub makes it a hat-trick of wins

Wed 27th May 2009, 17:38

The Kieran Purcell trained Paddy Pub made it a hat-trick of wins when landing The Conyngham (QR) Cup under Joe Burns in the colours of the Big Five Syndicate.

The winning trainer Purcell revealed afterwards, "He's after winning 3 chases and 2 point to points so we can't really complain, he's an honest to good horse. If the ground stays soft we'll keep him on the go."

Purcell also added, "We might go for the Galway Plate but only if the ground came up soft."

The winning trainer Purcell is a well known Kilkenny Hurler who won 3 All Ireland medals for his county in the early 70's.
