First reserve Table Forty Six took full advantage of getting a run in the apprentice handicap at Wexford as she collared Gun Shoot close home.

With Eretara ruled out due to a nasal discharge, Denis Cullen’s seven-year-old mare clawed her way into the field.

Ross Coakley was on board and had her in the front rank behind Ned’s Indian and Gun Shoot in this extended mile and three contest.

Gun Shoot and Ronan Whelan swept past Ned’s Indian and Conor Hoban at the two furlong pole but she couldn’t shake off Table Forty Six who hit the front with 150 yards to go to score by two lengths at 13/2.

Ross Coakley said: "She had run well on a couple of occasions and things just didn’t fall right for her. She finished second on her last run here to Kims Dream, and she has gone on to win twice since.

“Denis Cullen has done a good job with her, and this will keep the owner happy! She is part owned my father (Denis), and he helps Denis with her."

Gun Shoot at 5/1 pipped Waterloo Sunrise (16/1) for second by a head.

This was trainer Denis Cullen’s first winner since Bombadero won over hurdles at Wexford last October – a run of 91 runners in 299 days.
