Darragh O’Keeffe completed a quickfire 20/1 double at Thurles as Presenting Point appreciated a drop back in trip to take the Duggan Veterinary 4cyte For Horses Handicap Chase.

The Eoghan O’Grady-trained gelding, who gained his only previous win over 2m5f at Tramore back in December 2020, had run over three miles plus on his latest few starts and this step back to 2m4f proved just the ticket.

O’Keeffe sent the well-backed 11/2 chance (available at 20/1 overnight) to the front four from home and a fine leap at the last settled the issue as he galloped on strongly to beat Champagne Beauty by a length and a half. Whenurgoodurgood kept on one paced to finish a further two-and-three-quarter lengths back in third.

O’Keeffe earlier partnered French Dynamite to land the featured Pierce Molony Memorial Novice Chase.

O'Grady said, ""it was a long time between drinks, as they say. He was unlucky here before Christmas when he was chinned on the line and Darragh gave him a savage ride today, as I thought he was beaten several times.

"He likes Thurles and we'll keep him to this grade. The syndicate are all Ballyclough lads."
