Huntingtown made a winning start in handicap company at Kilbeggan for trainer Edward O'Grady.

The Presenting gelding had been placed in a maiden hurdle at Limerick over Christmas and went to post a 10/1 shot on his first outing since finishing a well-beaten sixth in a hot novice contest at Naas in February.

Philip Enright produced his mount to challenge after the second last and he edged ahead on the run to the final flight, going on to record a three-length win over Dylan Lombardy

“I'm delighted. Dermot O'Rourke was one of my first owners not long after I started training back in 1972. It's lovely to have him back as an owner in the yard,” said O'Grady.

“He kindly bought this horse as a three-year-old. Today was his first handicap and I think the cheekpieces made quite a big difference to him. It was probably a weak race.

“He's by Presenting and the better ground would suit him as well.

“I'll discuss things with the owner now and we'll see, he'll probably run again.”
